| Reactor - Why can't it be more simple!!!!

Can someone help me with this reactor file. I think it’s a tolerance issue but I just don’t know as much about reactor as I should. But I trying to learn. The scene is a crane arm, all within a RBC. The Main Arms are Unyielding and the Wheels are yielding. I want the Wheels to stay with the arms during the animation so i can add a Cable and let the cable drive the rotation of the wheels. The main arms are animated with an IK and linked to the bones. As you can tell one of the arm parts wont fallow the bone in the simulation but in the animation it works fine. The wheels won’t stay with the arms because of the tolerances I think. I’ve spent too much time trying to figure this out, so now I’m asking for the expertise of the community to help me. How can you set the world tolerances to allow items that are close together interact with each other? What am I doing wrong?

I don’t know your final goal for this project, but I think trying to use reactor to simulate a cranes movement is a little too much work for the effect. It’s probably easier to use wiring parameters along with your IK to make the wheels turn accordingly. Reactor’s good for some things, but not this.

The only objects you need in the simulation are the object to be dropped, and the object it will hit when it falls (unyielding).

Tim your response was spot on with the dropping problem I had and it works great, I greatly appreciate your input, but for this one I’m trying to have the Sheaves (Wheels) turn with the friction of the rope passing over them. I have always had problems getting reactor set up right for this kind of situation so I just hand animate it. I know reactor could so much better, with a more realistic look. I just need to know what settings I need to focus on to get small tolerances to work. There doesn’t seem to be very many good Reactor Tutorials online.
