I want to get rid of the time slider, and all animation and time controls elements.
I hardly ever use the animation tools in max, so they just add unnecessary clutter to my UI. I mostly just use it for modeling and rendering stuff I’ve sculpted in ZBrush. Is there a way to get rid of the time slider and the other animation controls so can capitalize on that extra real estate? I’ve been poking around in the Customize User Interface tool and I don’t see anything that would get rid of these UI elements. There are entries for animation controls in the quad menu, but that’s about it.
Thanks,
Dustin

You can use Expert Mode (CTRL+X by default), then bring back your command panel, main toolbar, and any of the others you want. I gave my command panel a shortcut so I can hide and unhide it easily.

Find these and set a keyboard shortcut:
Show Track Bar Toggle
Show Time Slider
That’s about as far I as know to get rid of the stuff at the bottom,
except of course Expert Mode which has been mentioned.
Also, some might be interested in:
