Hi everybody.....

I want some information about :
• can the graphic card make any help in final rendering ?? if we attach 2, 3, or more of DDR5 graphic cards SLI or Crossfire ??
• Is there something called “Realtime Rendering” ????

thanks for any information .....

In Max 2009, the graphics card plays no part in the rendering process, it is all down to the CPU(S) and RAM. More CPU cores will speed up rendering. So twin CPU machines and multi core CPUs are best for rendering.
In Max 2011 there is the new Quicksilver hardware renderer, that does use the GPU for faster rendering, but the quality is not as good, and not all shaders are supported.
The most common solution for faster rendering output is a render farm, which used multiple computers to work together to get the job done faster.

i wondered about this myself as adding sli seems to make no difference in rendering times.  does sli or crossfire help with view port performance in 2009.

No - Max does not use sli/crossfire.

no - SLI isn’t supported - get a fast singe GPU card with sufficient ram to store large textures and models…

Note: this will still have no effect al all on rendering. But it will help viewport performance when working in Max.
It will help rendering if you upgrade to 2011 and use Quicksilver to render.
