Hi

Lately I’ve noticed that the squash variant of the scale tools may come on if I happen to tap ‘r’ repeatedly.
Could a widget be added to the Gizmo preferences to deactivate squash until toggled, or a hotkey, or maybe CTL-scale, is pushed?

Also, why does the transform gizmo sometimes turn itself off in the Gizmo preferences?

Tom

Oh—maybe it’s the x key.  Note that the toggle for Views/Show Transform Toggle doesn’t display a change if the x key has been pressed.

2 different issues.

QWER select the Select, Move, Rotate and Scale tools when pressed once, but both the Select and Scale toggle though various options when pressed repeatedly. Select cycles through the various Selection Regions - Rectangle, Circle, Fence etc, and the Scale cycles though Uniform, non-Uniform and Squash.
You can change the hotkeys in Customise > Customise User Interface.

“X” does not toggle the Views > Show Transform Gizmo option, it toggles Customise > Preferences > Gizmos (tab) > Transform Gizmos (section) > ON.
Views > Show Transform Gizmo is a different feature.

Neither of these are really “Wishlist” items, i.e. requests for new features. You haven’t told us which version of Max you have, so I’m moving this thread to the Max 2009 forum. If that is incorrect just tell us and it can be moved to Max through 2008.

Max 4.2 through 2013.

NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
