New bug related to Biped Xtra again. (2008 and 2009 affected)
Biped animation file (.bip) with Xtra are not loading loading translation on Xtra bones in the Mixer.
1- Create a biped with one or more Xtra bones.
2- Animate the Xtra bones with Translation and Rotation
3- Save the animation in .bip
4- Load the saved animation in the Biped Mixer
Only the Rotation work, Translation Key show up but are blank with no actual animation. Only the Start Position work.

I’ve got a problem with Biped animation when I use a Link Constraint to attach an object to part of the biped.
See the thread for more detail.
http://area.autodesk.com/for...t-causing-biped-problems/
To recreate:-
1. Create a Biped.
2. Create another object.
3. Assign a Link constraint to the object, and link to world.
3. Set a Key for the biped’s hand.
4. Move along the timeline, move the biped’s hand to the object and set a key.
5. On the same frame, select the object, click Add Link and choose the biped hand.
6. Move further along the timeline, move the biped hand and try to set a Key.

I get the same bug frequently. The previous response didn’t make sense to me, so I’m posting the same issue in hopes of getting Autodesk’s attention. I’ll be in a Perspective or Camera view, then click to move something in another view (Top, Front), and it automatically changes to Perspective view & zooms to some obscure area. It’s not file-specific, and I’m forced to manually change the view back & zoom extents every time. It really gets in the way when I’m trying to edit things quickly - need a fix to this.

Curve Editor Issue since Max 2008
When adjusting one key-frame on a curve (say x axis) when the mouse releases that key-frame all 3 axis pop back up on the screen and zoomed out to time-frame. Very frustrating when animating.
Attribute Editor Issue
Using rigs for animation some have used attribute editor from previous versions of max, this is fine the first time it is loaded, however if you File > Open the scene again the attribute holder will not function. Need to close max and re-open it to solve the issue.
Cheers guys.
Vella.

new bug with SP1 install on floating license versions of 2009
Workaround:
Okay, to correct the SP1 license switch problem you need to add a string to the Max launch:
“C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\3dsmax.exe” -yc
This will force Max to launch using a floating license instead of standalone

SP1 Will not install at all; either through the Install.exe or the .msi It seems to think 2009 is not installed.

undo function bug! after few time, the ctrl-Z and even the undo button doesn’t cancel anything or , the worst, create a random result! (max2009 SP1 XP) tested on 2 PC, same problem.
If there is no solution I swear I change to another software! this is not usable in production with such bugs!
