The Area light problem is still not fixed in max2009 SP1.
1,create a Photometric Light.
2,change the light shape to “Rectangle”
3,create a plane near the light to illume.
4,choose Mental ray renderer.
5,render it
in max2008, the shape of lighten part in the plane is Rectangle, but in max2009, the shape of lighten part in the plane is a stretched dot.
兄弟,原来你我都是中国人呀!哈!

3ds max v9 : This is a regular occourence, when modelling in edit poly with a split mesh, selecting ring across a row of edges or loop that have borders on both sides or even one side results in a crash. Usually save before this happens but it occasionally still gets me. It’s pretty random as you can get past the ring or loop selection to a connect function then it will crash. Anyone want to jump in with a cure?

In 2009 version 64bit with vista, over 1.000.000 polygons it crashes continuosly when i simply use pan, both by mouse or icon, and even if i turn off the layers.
I have never seen, and i started with 2.0, a 3dsmax version crashing so much, over 3 - 4 milion polygons it crashes every 5 minutes for very simple operation, it’s impossbile working professional in this way.
Please, instead adding anusefull things, fix these huge bugs that are much more important for professionals.

3ds Max 2009, 3ds Max 2009 SP1
Net Render does not work on dual Athlon MP processor machines.
1. F10 > Check Net Render
2. Click Render.
The 3ds Max 2009 window ‘flashes’ and the Network Job Assignment window never appears.

I run Dual monitors on Vista 32 bit and have my command panel on the right hand monitor and have had problems with the command panel blocking other windows. It even happens when I am dragging another window. It is similar to the Windows media player being always on top. Is this a Max bug or a Vista issue? Should mention that I have an NVidia GeForce 8600GT card. Latest drivers.
Kind regards, Tom
