Using mr Photographic Exposure Control in Max Design I have problems in understanding how mr Photographic Exposure relates to making adjustments in Final Gather. In VIZ2008 I used Logaritthmic Exposure Control and it was easy to see what happened when I also made adjustments in Final Gather fx in Point Desity and rays pr FG Point. Is it so that when you have chosen mr Photographic Exposure in Max Design then you dont have to enable FG. Can anybody explain to me how they are supposed to interact.

Jorn, mr Photographic Exposure Control is much like the name suggests. It’s as if you have a professional photographic camera set in the scene, and have all the settings you can adjust to make the image look good based on the existing (and physically accurate) lighting. I don’t know much of photography, so I generally use the Exposure Value spinner to make the image render brighter or darker.
The changes in Final Gather you mention (Point Density and rays per FG) are used to make the Final Gather solution more accurate, and affect the quality of the final image (reduce noise, etc.). I don’t think making changes to FG should really affect what you do to mr PEC.
I hope this makes sense.
