I completely don’t mind them EXCEPT, why are they in every viewport? I would use them in my perspective viewport but everywhere else they just get in the way.

If something work in one software with one user base it’s does not necessary work on the other
software package although they may do the same stuff because it may complicate workflow of
future artist who learn 3dsmax in a different way. We need consistency as much as possible to
keep the fast moving industry efficiency not new gimmick to play with. We dont need to look more
and more like other software… buts yes if there is something that could greatly improve workflow
it should be implimented.

The viewcube comes with Maya 2008, and I HATE it.  It gets so annoying, I hit it all the time on accident, and it is a waste of space on the screen.  The old one was better, it had orthographic and what-not views.  So mine is OFF!

now that;s interesting to know it’s didn’t work for the maya user as well, so the icon is too big, did you guys have a dial where you could dial
down the size?

i watched the same discussion over in Maya 2008 forums long before “ViewJunk™” for Max 2009 was released.
Same discussions - same conclusions -> for some people usefull sometimes, needles and unwanted by the majority
It’s more a tool for ADESK’s sales people to enable them to demonstrate the tools they are selling without having actually “indepth knowledge” :-)
