is is safe to say tha max 2009, 2010 and 2008 will work under windows 7 64 bit? Our IT dept is talking about mkoving from Vista 64 bit to the latest windows.

It HAS been working for others, but is not officially supported by Autodesk at this time. If you do a quick search of the forums for Win 7 or Windows 7, you’ll find many of the threads posted here about problems people have encountered, and even some positive experiences.
Just be aware that you’re on your own until Adesk says it’s supported as an OS.
