About two weeks ago, I ran into a problem with a game that research said was either a .net or C++ error and that I should remove all of both and reinstall. Didn’t fix the game, gave up for the night and decided to get back to work on a character model in Max 2010 64bit. Except now I suddenly had the side-by-side configuration error message. I’ve been trying to fix this alone for the last two weeks, and have had no luck.
I’ve: uninstalled max and reinstalled as admin, run as admin, removed all c++ entries and .net entries and reinstalled from MS downloads and/or my Max dvd, downloaded CCleaner from Cnet to do a mass registry cleaning, manually edited my registry as per one article, added all hotfixes and service packs, etc etc. I think that I’ve completely removed all associated files and reinstalled them over a dozen times. No go. 32bit runs, but it’s buggy: right click contextual menus often wink out of existence for example. I’ve read that installing another 64bit version of another 2010 Autodesk application would help as this error is usually attached to registration, but I don’t have the funds for that. Any help would be amazing.
And please, don’t refer me to http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/ser...&linkID=9241177. Been there, done that.
