Yay!

I presume this line: “When using Bitmaps in scenes, render times could increase; this degradation was more noticeable as the number of machine cores increased. This degradation in performance has been corrected.” means that the killer bug is squashed? If so it means we can actually use Max2010! \o/

Would be great if someone could confirm that Max2009 scenes now render at the same speed in Max2010

I’m having something of an issue with the SP1 install.

Error given is a popup stating

“The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be updated may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be updated exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.”

I get the same behavior on both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the patch (though I can’t say I’ve ever even launched the 32-bit flavor of 3ds Max 2010.

Any ideas, anyone?

I tried a system reboot. I’d like to avoid a re-install of max if possible.

Also - I get the same behavior on one of my render nodes, so I don’t believe its machine-specific.

I’m running the Design flavor, fwiw.

Thanks for any help.

Nevermind.  I’m an idiot.  Didn’t see that there was a separate installer for the Design flavor.

Same here, but I choose the correct update :-)

Had the same problem with a previous version of Max.

I’m using XP64 and have the 32-bit and the 64-bit Version installed (not design).

Any ideas?

Pete

hi,
will there be special editions of the servicepack for different countries or languages? in the other thread titane357 had problems installing the servicepack with the french max version. he changed to the english version and it worked for him. what about the german verison. my client is not able to install the servicepack in combination with his german max version. i think for him a change to the english version is not a solution, because his working with the german version for years now.

Yes, there are localizations of the service pack coming (if they aren’t already available)
