Animate a vertex?

Hi, I need to make my spaceship come out of a ground plane and I am not aloud to build anything fancy. I heard I could animate a vertex to make it blob out… Anyone as a clue or links to a tuts ? Thx.

You should be able to animate a vertex just like anything else.  N to turn on animate, move vertex, change time and move again.  Vertex animated.

Unless you’re trying to do something more complex?
