Hello, I recently joined this forum, sadly, I join with a request for help.

Now, after a few installs, an update to the service pack, updated drivers and all kinds of disk cleaning. I face a rather gigantic problem.

BlueScreen

BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA80071104E0
BCP2: FFFFF8800FFBC230
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000002

Now, it has to do with the viewport. During even the most simple of tasks it has a chance to randomly bluescreen. It happens quite often and can take as little as minutes. More noteworthy however is that the files get corrupted after this, and it really presents me with a rather massive problem.

3ds max 2010 SP1, windows 7 home premium, Nvidia GeForce 295 GTX.

Now, I was wondering if anyone would have some advice on what to do?

First the bad news: Windows 7 (any version) is not officially supported by Max 2010.

Have you tried running under Software graphics driver? If yes, then…
The first troubleshooting I would do is run a good memory-test program on your system; it could be a bad chip. You should be able to find some free test programs on the InterWeb.

It would seem that you’ve run into a similar problem to a lot of other users have hit. It seems centered around your specific video card.

That’s another thread that talks about the issues with the GeForce GTX 295, and around page 2 the Autodesk folks chime in with some insights. My suggestion would be to try to switch modes from Direct 3D to OpenGL or Software to see if that stabilizes things. Also be sure to download the absolute latest drivers as some older ones also cause issues.

I hope that helps.
