1. Create an editable poly with multiple elements.
2. Go to element sub-object mode
3. Using graphite tools to select “by random”

The selection will be random faces within the elements rather than randomly selecting elements.

Can anyone confirm this?

I have the same problem. Impossible to select elemnts by random :(

Same here, so please Autodesk, take a look into this.
Meanwhile, we’ll have to stick to this tool

No point asking Autodesk to do anything in here - these are peer-to-peer forums.

If you believe you have found a bug then report it otherwise they may not know about it and it won’t get fixed.

Having said that - this is the Max2010 forum, and the last update for Max2011 will be the last one, so the chances of this ever being fixed in 2010 are rather small.
