Hi guys, i’m coming back to this post to bring a little positive touch to my very negative earlier tone.

I really want to share with you that i’ve had the pleasure to meet Shane Griffith at the End User Event in Utrecht. Obviously i’ve been complaining a lot about Autodesk’s product and support in this thread and bringing that topic up in Utrecht during Shane’s lecture was not the most relevant thing to do for everyone out there, nor was it such nice way to introduce myself to him in person. But after demonizing so much the goals and agenda of Autodesk as a huge corporate machine it is, i kinda forgot that among the people they hire, there are a lot a truly dedicated and passionate people… well, it was just very reassuring and satisfying to figure out that Shane and his team are among those. So sure, i complained about not getting better, more personal, support from autodesk along the years, and like Shane said it to me “i can’t possibly go knock of the doors of 150 000 users to provide support...” Well, i really appreciated he managed to come all the way to Utrecht to a rather small convention to ell us in person more about what’s going on at ADSK, definitely the kind of gesture that makes me feel that people at ADSK do care, cheers for that. So, i’ll sure complain some more about crashes and so on, but nevertheless, big up to Shane and his crew and good luck with the upcoming challenges!

pe@ce,

A.

ALso i did not mention this, but today i’ve just had enough of the frame buffer of Max 2010! What the hell is going on with the Frame buffer… everytime it’s open, my cursor blincks and the whole interface becomes slow and flickery?? Am i dreaming it, or is it just messed up for you guys?

A.

I have this exact same problem.

At leaset once a day max max goes into this endless 20 minute cycle of screen flickering and saving , flickering, saving flickering saving, flickering, saving.

And then it sorts itself out and works perfectly for six hours.

Don’t bother...,

- if it’s graphics related they’ll say it’s the drivers,
- if it’s plugin related they’ll say it’s not OUR fault (although the plugin functionality should have been incorporated in MAX a long time ago),
- if it’s a BUG, they’ll say this is the way MAX has always worked; fixing it would be a NEW FEATURE! (see here, half way down...)
- if it’s an inconsistent UI they’ll say WAIT FOR XBR!

it is the drivers. I’m curious- what graphic cards do you guys experiencing this problem have?
