Hi,
I am using 3D Max for interior design. Anybody can advise on specific command I can use for

1) How to create objects that are curve eg. curve wall. The arc may or may not be even.
2) How to stretch or resize object by dragging the mouse
3) How to import furniture from autocad 2d draft and extrude it upwards. Ideally, I hope to reach
a point where you can just sketch it on paper, scan it into jpeg and export it to Autocad for
tracing. But at the moment, any furniture template/ model that I can use. However, I am open
to efficient practice for modeling furniture. Is it importing furniture from Autocad draft
and manipulate from there like extrusions, and ...?
4) How to use any ruler for measuring of distances to proportion the object within a room
5) If the floor is curve, how do you draw it and extrude it
6) How do you draw curve shelf
7) As I am photoshooting pictures to import to 3D Max for manipulation, how to bend or wrap
Jpeg photos so that it sticks to the walls or tables that may be curve; and any other
manipulations I can do with 3D Max?

Thanks very much. Help

This is very basic stuff. You need to do the tutorials that come with Max to get yourself started. You will learn all these things and more.

As for your work flow, I highly doubt you will get good results by extruding 2d furniture.  But the idea of tracing a plan in autocad is a good one.  That gives you a plan to scale, which you can import into Max and 3d model everything using it as a guide.

Links to the 2010 tutorials, if you don’t have them.

Max Design 2010
The design ones may be more relevant to your needs, but you will learn valuable skills from both, essential for anyone starting out with Max.
