Not moving from one pc to the other. Just cloning to a larger drive. 3dsMax 2010 says lic no good, how do I get Max going on this new drive?

That will not work.
You need to export the license from the original drive, to the new system drive.
Some time back when setting up the student lab with a new OS/system configuration and 3ds Max, I would use Norton Ghost to clone one drive to another, and repeat the process
until all the clones were created. Then, and only then, would I register and authorize each one. If I registered and authorized the original, all the clones would come up with
broken licenses.
I’m not sure about the 2010 license scheme, but if it were a simple matter to clone a licensed version and get another license version, everyone would be working with a clone of
someone else’s clone.
