The problem your having is with 3ds max, software the one you have is a 32 bit that is offered by the autodesk website for download you must request for a full version that
installs both 32 and 64 bit DVD from autodesk I’ve seen this before with other users that download from the AD website

If by that you mean the trial version, then you are correct, the trial is 32bit only. If, however, you mean the full download available to subscription customers, then you are
wrong - that download includes 32 and 64 bit installs.
Max 4.2 through 2010, XP-Pro 64 SP2.
NVidia 8800GTX-768 (Driver 185.85).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 4Gb Ram, 4Gb Swap, DX9.0c.

I was running the Subscription Download install when I did the screen grab, so you are probably right.

Jay3d was very right i was using the demo and then i used an original cd it worked perfectly thanx man..
But ther is still a small problem i tryed rendering an old model i design on the 32 bit version and still it rendered slowly. so i checked the ram usage through task manager i
was surprised to see that its using only 1.5G is there a limit or something please explain
and thank you all

On the 64 bit version your RAM usage should not be limited, or at least the limit is very high. When Max renders it will only use as much RAM as the scene requires to render,
not all your RAM. Don’t expect significant render speed increases with x64. The extra RAM access doesn’t really affect render speed, that’s more down to the processor, which
should be at 100% usage. The RAM comes in on very heavy scenes and hi-res renders where the 32bit may run out of RAM and crash or give errors.

When Rendering it uses 100% of the processor and samab is right about the memory it uses what it needs for the scene
