| Max crashes upon exiting Paint Deformation tool
|
|
|
Hi all,
My Max 2010 - 64 bit crashes whenever I use the Edit Poly - Paint Paint Deformation tool. This issue popped up about 4 months ago and I cant find a way to fix this.
I have no idea why this happened, because I have another computer at my office that is set up exactly the same apart from the tablets, and the other computer works fine.
Has anyone ever had this problem and know how to fix it?

I’ve got the same problem. I have a wacom cintiq as one of my monitors and every time i select paint deform max64 2010 crashes on me. Just discovered the problem today, and the only thing I’ve found was this thread. Anyone else out there have this problem?

This problem doesn’t seem to occur with max2010 32bit, only 64bit - crashes as soon as you choose paint deform anywhere

I can use the paint deform in 32bit as well, but not 64bit. Odd, but at least I can model in 32bit and take it into the 64bit for the more intense stuff.

If you can confirm that this is a 64bit specific issue, report it through the Defect Report Submissions Form. The more people who report it the more chance there is it will be looked at. If you get the option, submit any CER reports as well.
Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

I have the same issue. Strangely enough it only happens on one of the computers we use here and have no idea why…
Still no solution and/or possible causes found?
