when rendering I get a blip on the screen and no render frame window or render progress bar
no matter if I have the render frame window to show or not. Any clue as to what could be the problem I have max design 2010 vista pro 64 i7 920 6 G ram

Do u have dual display setup? Maybe displaying off screen? Mess with your screen display settings in control panel and see if anything helps.
