Bit of a strange one this.

I have applied AVI’s as maps onto a couple of simple objects within a scene (tv screens within an animation) When I try to render out the scene it goes through the initial translation of the scene (before rendering) and stops then eventual crashes. I have tested the AVI’s within a fresh scene and they render out ok with no problems. The AVI files are a smallish res (only around 3Mb each) and there are only 2 of them in the scene at the moment.

Any ideas?

Not sure why it’s crashing, 10GB should be enough RAM so I don’t think it’s that. If the AVIs work in another scene it won’t be 64bit codec compatibility.
One tip I will give for using animated textures, it is better to convert them to image sequences and load an IFL file as a bitmap.

Hi samab, thanks for the reply

I thought it may be a memory issue to begin with but it flies through rendering the stills in a fresh scene with only the objects that are mapped with the avi’s . How would I convert the core AVI files to image sequences to create the IFL format?

Samab...you are a genius!

Tried the IFL format and it worked!..

Cyber pint to your good self!
