Hi,

I’ve always wondered about this and wondered if it was possible to achieve without messing around with textures or render elements.

My task is that i render backgrounds for flash applications and within the backgrounds are selectable icons which are objects/models in my scene...in situ. I export all my selectable icons on alphas so the flash guys can use them as buttons. So far I generally just use render ‘selected’ but my problem is that some objects go through other objects i.e. the ground or are occluded by other objects, and would like my final renders to show this.

So just wondered if its possible to render selected and still have the hidden environment mask my selected objects final render…

Any hits or tips will be appreciated.

Thanks
