This SHOULD be an easy fix… but for whatever reason i cant figure it out.

I have made sure that the hot key IS set up properly and that caps lock is NOT on, but whenever i press shift+w to toggle my steering wheels.. well.. it just doesn’t work.

However when I select it from the views menu it DOES work .. so this isn’t a huuuge problem.. just something slightly annoying that only slightly hinders my work flow.

Oh ya.. I have also already made sure that the active box is checked next to steering wheels group in the “Customize User Interface” dialogue.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? Any help would be appreciated.

See if the Keyboard Shortcut Override Toggle makes any difference.

I’ve a suspicion this subject has been raised before - try searching these forums as you may find something more useful.

When I go to my menus, both the Steering wheel lists, and the view cube list only show dashes like they are not even installed, how should I address the issue

Check that you have an [installdir]\StdPlugs\AutoCamMax.gup file. In the early days of the VC&SW they caused problems and the easiest way to correct the issue was to remove or rename that file.

My system shows all the VC&SW options greyed out - the correct text is there but the options are not available (I remove that file instantly after installation). If yours is not even showing the text then that may not be the cause and all the usual suspects need to be checked.

Did you install as Administrator and run Max at least once as Administrator?
Did you disable any firewall and anti-virus during installation?
Have you disabled Aero?
Is Max configured for DX9? (DX10 causes many problems)

Beyond that, I have no idea.

I have exactly the same problem.

I have the file. And its not showing any text.

-I’ve installed it and I run it as administrator
-I disabled all.
-I have XP, so no Aero
-Yes, DX9

Hello, I removed theAutoCamMax.gup file and not the grey lines are gone. However, the view cube and steering wheel menus just show a lot of options that say “missing” and show numbers. How can i fix that?
