When using DirectX9 Driver, when being in SelectMode(Q) the rotating (or orbiting) view is very jerky. Funnily it’s OK in MoveMode(W) and all the other Modes. And it works also fine in SelectMode when being in ExpertMode. It has nothing to do with Shaded or WireframeMode. The FPS: (in ViewportStatistics) doesn’t reflect a drop of the framerate too. And in large windows it’s worse than in small windows.

Do some further searching. Lots of reading on this but I don’t think there is a solution (that I couldn’t find either obviously). It’s real annoying.

Also check to see if your angle snap is on.

wow that’s weird… I just tested this using a Wacom graphire tablet… and it does the jerky stuff real bad when NOTHING is selected while using the ALT-PEN DOWN-FINGERTIP CLICK to do ORBIT.
WHne a object IS SELECTED it is smooth like usual.
I don;t really use the tablet anyways for working...so no prob for me...but thought I’d throw this experince in using the tablet. Works fine with my Logitech MX Performace wireless mouse and a old Microsoft scroll wheel mouse.

It’s a preety well known issue with tablet user that work with Max.
The solution is to turn off the “Tablet PC Input Service” (not the “Tablet Service Pen") and everything will work as smooth as before. You will never use that input panel that floating around at the side of your monitor though, so its not a problem to just disable that service all the time (at least for me)
Cheers
