Hello,
I’m a current student who has been interested in starting to learn 3DS Max for rendering deisng projects. I haven’t had any classes on the program yet but wanted to get a jump start.
I’ve already run into my first problem where when I looked up ho to import a revit file into 3ds max it must be saved as an FBX file. However when I export to FBX from Revit, 3ds Max will not import the file. The file doesn’t actually even show up when I try to import.
The picture shows this with the file viewer on the right showing two FBX files in the “import” folder while 3ds Max is showing no items in the “import” folder.
I was wondering if anyone might know why this is?
Thank you

Probably just the wrong folder. Max will be looking in the import folder within the current project. Customise > Configure User Paths will show you where that is.
Expand the “look in” drop-down list and navigate to the same folder shown on the right of your image.
Max 4.2 through 2014, Composite 2014.

nVidia 9800GTX+ (512MB) (Driver 314.22).

Thank you very much for the reply, that did fix my problem. I just couldn’t seem to find out how to fix it, it was late and I am new to the program haha.
Thank you
