First I had them both, max2011-32 and max2011-64.
The full max installation associates max-file to max-32 bit. I practically never opened max-32. Only when accidentally double-clicking the file in file manager.
Yesterday I decided to uninstall the max2011-32 because its just a waste of diskspace for me.

I re-associated the max-filetype to max 2011 -64 bit. But problem is, the icon of max-filetype is lost in windows file manager.
I liked it there because it visually helps to quickly manage the files in project folders.
The icon to max-filetype is not readable from 3dsmax.exe (64 bit).

It appears that also the 64-3dsmax.exe file has a blanc icon.
I deleted the windows icon-cache. It didn’t help ...
I am too busy in my projects right now to dig in the internet and too busy to reinstall max (and no need for it, because it works absolutely fine).
Has anybody the knowledge to help me return the max-icon to max-filetype in Windows 7 File Manager?

Wow, great. I just love people claiming “problem solved” and not posting the solution to the problem. Did it ever occur to you that someone with the same problem might find this thread and be happy about a hint how to solve the issue?
