In max 2011 it’s fine to make glow effect in mentalray even it shows the error msg. But in max 2012, it doesn’t show anything in mentalray. But d.Scaneline works fine! Could anyone give me the solution for the mental ray?

Switch the Frame buffer type to 16 bit ( instead of 32 bit float). Render Effects are incompatible with the float render output , hence you’ll get that error message ....
This setting is in Mental Ray’s sampling quality rollout
