Does anyone know where the following customized toolbar action items went and how to get them back? Shade Selected Toggle, Shade Selected Faces Toggle, Show Safeframes Toggle, Show Selection Bracket Toggle. Thanks.

You didn’t really give us enough info to know exactly what’s happening but if they were ‘custom’ then you may need to go back and create you toolbar again to get them back. It should only take a few minutes.
I’ve lost mine before and just recreated them and all was well again.

Safe Frame...pick from there or Shift+f as it says.
I’ll let you use the search function in the help file for the rest, but get you started with this.

I’m sorry. I should have been more clear.
I’m trying to customize my Max 2012 toolbars. In past versions, the Customize > Customize User Interace > Toolbars Tab > Group: Main UI > Category: All Commands had the following Action options: Shade Selected Toggle, Shade Selected Faces Toggle, Show Safeframes Toggle, Show Selection Bracket Toggle. Now it looks like they are gone. If so, I would very much like them back. My workflow will be severly hampered without them. And please don’t suggest assigning a keyboard shortcut or clicking through different menu items. That is exactly what my customized toolbars was trying to avoid.

There are some options like that in there...not sure if they have been renamed or they are the wrong ones...have a look:

Thank you for the reply but those are menu actions, not toolbar actions. As far as I can tell Autodesk has gotten rid of them. Bad form Autodesk.

YAY!! Thanks a million! I’ve also found the others now that I know what they’re named. Good for you for helping me. Bad for Autodesk for making these kinds of (arbitrary?) changes that cause such a headache (not to mention giving us action names that are too long to fit in the dialog window).
