Imagine a cityscape with a dozen skyscrapers. I’d like to link the roof ploygons to a helper so that when I moved the helper, the roof planes would follow it so I could move them around in x and y and possibly in z. The roof would move around like blowing in the wind while the street level stays planted.
Linking a subobject selection appears to work with ‘select and link’ as the target (helper) turns white but when I go out of subobject mode and move the helper it drags the entire geometry around. I searched the web and Scriptspot but couldn’t find anything.
I assume it’s doable but I can’t seem to figure it out.
----Additional Info-----
I’ve figured out how to use bones to get something in the right direction. Now I need to move a ball through the towers and have them move aside and then come back to where they were, like dragging your finger through a hair brush. MassFX so far just sends everthing off into space. I can’t seem to find a force ‘attractor’ that for the spehere so things come back. I’ve attached a video of what I’m trying to do.
Ok, attachement is not working, here is a link: http://nvision4d.com/guest/capture-2.mp4
