This will be laughably simple for most readers, but I’m stuck and am at a loss.

I have a portion of my building in max that needs to be covered in metal panels.  I’m good with creating a material to represent this. What I cannot find in ANY of materials is how to adjust the material’s placement on each face so that I can make sure they align.

Currently the seams “jump” as they turn the corners, rather than wrapping continuously around. Way back when I took classes in this prog at one point we were able to select a specific FACE of a cube and then shift the material around to align the seams correctly (ie: without creating a UVW unwrap).

The “help” system in max acts as if this isn’t even possible.  Is my only option really to have to unwrap the textures, use photoshop to paint panels, and then reapply?  Seriously?

Any assistance would be hugely appreciated.

Two ways: use “real world materials” in UVW and in your material. Ten assign the proper size that works.

Also: you can adjust the tiling to work properly wit the building dimensions, assuming it’s been constructed to the scale you need.
