Hi, this seems like a performance feature - with a CAT rig, the mesh is not updating until the timeline is scrubbed or the animation played. Potentially useful, but I would rather put the mesh on another layer and hide it.
Where is this setting and how can I toggle it?

It also affects disabling animation mode, the mesh will stay in whatever position it was in.
For instance, add a CAT motion layer, then disable animation mode, and the mesh is in some walk position. Scrubbing does not help here. Deleting the CAT motion layer does not help - have to add an absolute layer, enable it, then scrub, then can delete/disable.

Ah this may have been part of that COM error : CoCreateInstance () failed
after running Max once by RMB > run as administrator, this error, and the above update problem, seems to have vanished.
