| Where are Rentokill when you need them? Flyouts, colour issues (2013)
|
|
|
Flyout images not changing - they all look the same. Might be caused by switching to the 2009 UI theme. (see image)
Colurs are not consistent with previous versions - checked against 2012 and 2011. The 2013 colours are lighter, despite having the same RGB values. Note that the earlier versions are also using the 2009 theme.
[edit] If you save the colours image locally and check the rgb values of the highlighted areas, those in 2013 are [115,115,115] vs those in 2012 which are [44,44,44] as displayed in the colour picker [/edit]
[edit2] Colours issue solved. 2013 has “affect colour-picker” and “affect material editor” on by default, which I didn’t notice. Thanks Krueger. [/edit2]
[edit3] Flyouts - fixable (manually) but not permanently. Start reading from the top of page 2 ;) [/edit3]

Same here, I’m using 2009 scheme, also Graphite Modeling Tools stays dark scheme when using 2009, and top toolbar is also still dark.

The Theme dropdown (which you can see in my image says “Light"). That controls the title bar colour. I’ve never found a separate item in any of the lists which allow you to change it.

Ahah....It’s Sunday morning (I had a late one watching F1) selecting “light” also fixes Graphite Toolbar colours (of course).
I’m comparing 2013 to 2011 simply selecting 2009 scheme was all that was needed in 2011.
All this is not much use if the drop down icons can’t be fixed. :(

Agreed. Colour “oddities” we can live with, but the flyouts are a real problem. Definitely a candidate for a bug report.
And don’t tell me the result of the F1 - I’ll be watching it in about an hours time :)

I predict..... “The 2009 scheme is no longer supported” ...... lol :)

I do hope you’re not right. I SO hate that greenish/gray “corporate” scheme :(

The color issue looks like gamma is turned on in 2013 and off in 2012. Is that the case?

Nope - all versions have gamma/lut enabled, gamma 2.2.
Could be something slse, of course, that I’ve missed. Only done a basic configuration of 2013 so far.
Are the colours “wrong” for anyone else (with the 2009 theme)? Or is it just me…

Do you have Affect Color Selectors enabled in the gamma for both? I’m sticking with the stable 2009 so I can’t say if it’s changed..

I think you may have found it Krueger. Turning those off does seem to correct the problem.
As for if/when they (or rather their default state) changed - I couldn’t say. My recent versions have them off (2011/2012), but even earlier ones have them on, but with the gamma/lut disabled. I certainly can’t remember turning them on in earlier versions, and I definitely didn’t turn them on in 2013. Both the 32 and 64bit versions have them on by default.
IOU a free e-beer :)

Switch your Workspace to “Alternate Layout” and the icons are back :)
It seems the problem only exists with the “Default Workspace”...alternate and new workspaces work fine.
EDIT ...sorry no it doesn’t....switching Workspace’s seems to switch the UI Scheme. I hadn’t noticed it was switching between 2009 UI and Default UI.
