This one is frustrating me to no end.  I have three models all generating this same error message (no photons stored after 10000 photons).  I have done a ton of reading over 3 days to figure this out.  I have put a sphere around my entire model, a box, checked the lights to make sure they are positioned right, move lights, make sure none of my materials specular level is pure black, same for glossy and still I get this error!

Any ideas?????????

try changing rebuild photon map to on

Wouldnt I want to rebuild the photon map though?  If I change anythign it effects the photon map....

I warm up this thread, because had the same problem and solved it:
It helps to use an infinite light instead of spots. Spots makes problems, as soon as they are placed far away from the target.
