I’m rendering a sequence and according to Windows task manager the the memory usage never exceeds 2,5GB. I have 12 GB RAM installed on a 64-bit OS and still I get the Fatal error message: Out of memory.

When rendering the sequence (distributed rendering with 2 other 32-bit machines as rendernodes) the resource monitor repports for physical memory:
Hardware reserved:  9 MB
In use:  2218 MB
Modified:  198 MB
Standby:  1318 MB
Free:  8546 MB

Does anybody know if there’s anything I have to do to make Max use the free 8,5 GB RAM?

Does it work if you don’t DBR? Could it be the 32bit render nodes that have the problem?

Good thinking, I’ll try later to day.

Thank you, Samab!

It was the 32-bit render nodes that caused the problems.
Tried rendereing with only 64-bit and no crashes in 6 days!
