Currently running:
CPU: AMD Dual Core 4400+ 64bit
RAM: 2GB of DDR2 @533 mhz
GPU: 8800gts 320mb
Motherboard: Gigabyte POS

As you can see this setup is capable of running 3Ds Max 2010 64bit Edition but probably shouldn’t. What should I get? What is the best setup for max for quick renderings and a cheap price of around 600 bucks.

600 bucks isn’t alot.

search through this forum, there are too many threads like this.

for decent rendering on that budget look at the intel Q8400 or Q8300 (quad-core), base your system around that
