I also use the QuadroFX 1700 and the viewport lags with only one cylinder. Is there any fix for this problem?

I’am using QuadroFX 1700 with win xp 64-bit and max 2010. Directx is really slow even without any geometry, while Opengl is working properly. I’ve got the most recent whql-drivers for the display adapter.

im using QuadroFX 4500, just like u 2 without the performance driver the viewport is sluggish.
to use the viewport hardware shader is almost imposible especially in the scene there is a 4-5 photometrics lights. the refresher rate is lag. so sad can’t enjoy the new viewport features and the display doesn;t or not even close to my final render. I seen demo their viewport is support environment lights and don’t have harsh shading on it. sigh

Apparently there won’t be any nvidia performance drivers for 3ds max 2010: http://area.autodesk.com/for...2010-performance-driver-/

I have a Dell precision M6400 with a nvidia Quadro fx 2700M installed. The viewport is nothing but terrible with this hardware in 3ds max 2010 with directx 9.0 chosen; it even lags during playback of very simple animations (movement of a box).

It happnes the same with a simple video card like mine, nvidia 9800gt, the viewport lags with one sphere but it can handle 8 million polys but alwys lags, its directx 9, with directx 10 doesnt happen this but it has other problems, im using win 7 final

now i know that the viewport lag is because of the windows 7 and vista aero, if u turn it off all its ok in the viewport

Turning off the Viewcube helps, but it’s still not that fast.
But there is hope:-

Nevermind… downloaded latest driver and it was built-in.
