I’ve tried to install max on an old system.....

Max 2011
Win XP SP3
ATI X850
Driver is restricted to 10-2_legacy_xp32-64_dd_ccc.exe

Out of the box it installs and works fine, but when I install the service packs, the view-ports are black (D3D).
Is there any reason why the service packs kill the view-ports ? obviously the gfx card is crap, but the sp readme contains no details about gfx fixes.

Figured it out, legacy gfx card drivers require legacy device drivers in max, I replaced the original d3dgfx.drv and all is working fine now. Seems stable enough.....so far...... ;)
