Hi,

I am using 3ds max 2008 on win 7 x64 ultimate with a gtx 470 gpu,but no matter what setting I choose from the NV control panel for AA the viewport is not antialiased which looks pretty ugly when modeling.
I spent a little fortune for a new graphic card to see it not working properly in max:(
So is there any way to enable AA on my system in D3D mod not OGL?
In OGL works fine, but slow as a dead cat.
Would it work under win xp 64 bit cause I am considering to create a dual boot with xp64 just for max.

Thank you very much in advance.

I have tested the AA option with 3dsmax 2011 Direct-X9 Nvidia 9600GT under Win7 x64 - it worked but lines looked a bit thick and blurry - speed was also going down…

I decided to switch back to no AA and use high res on a 30” display instead…

After testing a Quadro FX 4000 I decided to stay with my old outdated graphics card, because I couldn’t see any significant improvement…

I’ll wait for project XBR progress and GPU rendering (iRay would be a reason thinking about a fast GPU) before I’ll upgrade…

For all of you not opting for a expensive highend Quadro - a Nvidia GTX 580 with 3GB of video ram would be a good choice…

best Regards

I had a 8800gt and AA worked with it,but with the 470 it is not working in any version of max,no matter the CP setting.

Anyone have a working AA in viewports with a similar setup using a 400 series NV card and if yes what drivers are you using?

I had to use OpenGl in 3DS, and let the NVIDIA card override settings for viewport. AA works fine, though you won’t have any hardware shading in the viewports.
