The Quadro 2000 and GTX 580 (1.5GB) run about the same price....  I would really do some research to see which would work better for you.

I would also look at the Intel i7 chips compared to the xeons....  I think the xeons are a little pricy compared to the performance/stability gained.  I have a workstation with dual/quadcore xeons and another with an OC’d i7....  Their perfomance/stability are almost identical but the i7 workstation cost significantly less.

Well, E5645 actually slower than E5640. E5645 runs at 2.6 Ghz, E5640 runs at 2.9 GHz.

Dual E5640 scores about 9,718 passmark at stock for about $1,579.98 systems [including mobo]
Single i7-2600K scores about 9,157 passmark at stock for $314.95 [including mobo]

Yup better invest on single i7 new generation. Those i7 just requires cheaper regular DIMM.
or you can check amd opteron for better bucks than the dual xeon.

Dual AMD Opteron 6128 scores 9,355 passmark for $552.00 systems
DualAMD Opteron 4180 scores 9,337 passmark for $395.98 systems

The passmark info can be found at:

and get 1.5GB GTX580

the SSD quite pricey, i just still prefer fast rpm HDD for more room.
