Hi everyone. I’m having a problem with my student version of max 2010.

When I run max it brings up the Max 2010 logo screen, initializes max and loads the plug-ins none are after market plugins. I’ve had this install of max working for afew weeks now and had no issues with it until today. Earlier today I had it working, took a break and when I came back I found I had the above issue. I’ve tried running the programme with task manager up and it comes up with max under the applications tab and the processes tab but then disappears once the logo screen vanishs.

Searched around these forums and elsewhere online and havent found a clearcut solution. The only thread that looked useful had a link to an autodesk page which is no longer available.
I’ve hadthis issue before and have never been able to cure it and resorted to reformatting my pc anddoing a fresh install of windows and max.

PC spec/info

Windows XP Home SP3 with latest windows updates.
ASUS P5K mobo
Q6600 cpu
4GB ram
7800GT Graphics Card
180GB HDD with 2 partitions - 1 with OS and programmes the other with work/music

I’ve installed SP1 for max 2010 and the latest hotfix on the autodesk website. System has been running with no issues.

Any help would be most appreciated as I’ve got alot of work to finish before an assignment is due in within the next 2 weeks. I’ll also be posting this thread on my university course forum.

Cheers TazN1986

Hi There,

Try deleting the biped.dlc file from the stdplugs directory.

This is the only way i can get max to start on my system.

A useless solution of course if you have to do any biped stuff.

Lots of people seem to be having this problem with a corrupt biped file so hopefully Autodesk will sort it soon.
