Hello all !

I checked to see if someone already posted this but couldn’t find anything.

I just received my new DVD copy of Max 2010, uninstalled the old one, and installed the new one. But when I try to run the software nothing happens...no error, message, nothing! I tried rebooting, re-installing it, getting all the latest drivers, hotfixes, updates, etc....its probably really stupid but I can’t figure out whats wrong.

There is nothing about this on any of the help files either…

Any help is much appreciated!!

Windows XP Pro 2002 32bit SP3
Intel Xeon
3GB ram
Nvidia Quadro FX 5500

Moved here (Installation) from Max 2010 as this is a more appropriate forum for this question.

Which one did you have before? the Trial or the Subscription download?
Try looking in your Event log see if there’s anything obvious in there.

I had Max Design 2009 installed...fully licensed subscription dvd version…

I checked the Event log and don’t see anything out of the ordinary either.

I don’t get any error messages...just nothing happens. Very strange.

Thanks for your help!!! --sorry bout the double post

First step is to check the system requirements carefully, and also any
release notes or “ReadMe” files on the CD.

System requirements match perfectly and there is nothing in any of the help files about this.

Has anyone successfully installed version 2010 yet ??

THANK YOU!!!

Yes - since the beginning of April.

If you had it working, why did you uninstall it? DVD version should be the same as the downloaded one (from the subscription center). You did remember to disable Firewalls and AntiVirius and install as Admin I assume?

I didn’t have it working and I didn’t “reinstall” it.....my post title was changed from Install to Reinstall by an admin.

It was a first time install........it is the same as the downloaded one, I checked. Firewalls are disabled and I installed as Administrator.

I was only asking to see if anyone else had the same problem....but I guess not. Will figure it out on my end, if not its hard to tell....there’s too many things it could be.

Thanks again anyway!

CHEERS!

Sorry if I misinterpreted that, but you must admit it looks like you had it installed, uninstalled it then reinstalled from DVD.

I’ll change the topic back for you.
