Hope someone can help, we have a 3D max class starting pretty soon (Is there a direct phone support number for Autodesk technical question? we use volume licensing)

Here is our problem

We tried creating a network deployment folder for 3ds max 2010 with SP1 appended (not merged), tried without service pack, without the $ in the shared path and we also tried deploying locally but all attempt failed with the log attached.

Installing the software using the DVD worked fine though.

The network path used has full access security permission (as well as the share), I can create file/folder and delete files from the target computer.

Any Ideas guys?

Here are the errors

I tried installing directly from CD and it worked, so there is something wrong with the deployment folder for sure

I’m having the same problem while trying to install 3DS Max 2010 from network share.
I’m running silent install, but the logfile reports missing AutodeskSuite2010.mst.

Any ideas? Anyone?

Hi hkjpe,

I am currently troubleshooting the issue with autodesk support

I will let you know as soon as I have a fix

In the mean time, you can contact autodesk 3ds max support at this number: 1-877-927-7478 (you can link your case number to mine to speed up the process: 1-71-3985-1570)

Autodesk support found a fix, they sent me new files via secured FTP to add in the deployment folder and the installation worked after

I will ask autodesk for a fix accessible by anyone, if you are in a hurry, please contact them to get access to those files

Hi Kilimats,
Are these files customized for your installation only?
Or is it possible for you to upload them to a FTP-server, so I can download them?

I found files on the DVD, with the same name, and tried to copy the files from there.
The installation went further, but then stopped again (actually a rollback was performed).

hkjpe,

Currently the only available fix is privately shared by Autodesk Support, I am not authorized to share the file given to me via secured FTP

Please contact them for a quick resolution

They told me that a solution will be made public within the next few weeks
