Have you talked to 3D Max to see if they are porting their program to take advantage of GPU processing?

Ken Pimental’s blog here has an interesting animation that is apparently some sort of viewport shading, possibly using GPU.  But Adesk is fairly tight-lipped when it comes to the future of their products.  Unless you sign an NDA, in which case you can’t post anything here.  :(
