Hi everyone. I’m going to be learning maya (and still teaching myself 3ds max) next year in school and I need to buy a laptop. I already know a desktop is better, but I’m not taking my workstation into my dorm (i dont trust my roommate).

I need to know if anyone has experience running maya or 3ds max with a NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 3GB Graphics card. or if they have any other suggestions. I cant go above $1500 on my machine so a Nvidia Quadro is out of the question.
