Having got a workstation with a Quadro FX1800 I’m thinking of upgrading.  Most of my daily routine is animating and I keep finding that I spend too much time optimising the scenes down!  I’d like some really great performance as I’m interested in experimenting with fluid dynamics.

Any thoughts on the best value cards at the moment?  I’d appreciate your feedback/ feelings and personal experiences using higher spec Quadro cards.

I’m not keen on ATI as I’ve never really had a good relationship with the drivers in the past, but I know the FireGL chips are relatively good value too.

Thanks in advance.

I just got a 2GB Quadro 4000 board. The only problem is no performance driver for 3dsmax 2011 yet. So bascially I’m getting crap viewport performance until one comes out or someone points me to a workaround. Make sure your new Quadro board is based on Fermi, it’s much faster.
