I’ve unlocked the hidden production shaders for Mental Ray and started to play with them to see what I can do with them.  I’ve followed this tutorial for setting them up: http://www.dmmultimedia.com/3dtips_11.htm

For the most part its working, but when I use the Matte/Shadow/Reflection (mi) material, it renders all the objects I’ve set up for the matte as this translucent black.

I can’t figure out how to get rid of it.  Anyone have any ideas?

I’ve tried adjusting the exposure which does it, but then washes out all the other objects in the scene.  I’ve messed with some of the settings in the material but can’t seem to get rid of it.
