I’m trying to figure out how to make an entire object give off light evenly. not the glow effect, but actually make the object a light. for instance, say you have a long lighted bar, as you might see in modern architecture. if it just has an omni in the middle, the light won’t look like its coming from the whole object, only the center. how do you make light come from the entire object evenly?

if your using the mental ray render engine, you can use the arch and design material and use its glow, there’s an option to use it to light the scene
