I have to have a realistic moon and star light condition for a scientific visualization. I have the moon location data relative to my geographic location. While I strongly suspect the moon will be below the horizon given the altitude and the surrounding terrain (mountainous), I still need to accurately place the moon.

Alt.= 3.0°
Az.= 246.5° (WSW)

The daylight system in 3ds really can’t be massaged into being the moon for my purposes. Is there a tool/script for 3ds which will allow me to locate the light source for a given azimuth and altitude? I don’t see how I can do it with the daylight system.

Thanks

David

One possibility: A Spotlight: position, then rotate about World Origin. Use a linked sphere at the light as the moon object.
