Hello,

There are lots of setting within mental ray for creating realistic camera effects and settings.
Lens distortion, barrel roll, bokeh, shutter speed, f stop, vignette etc… but for the most these setting appear to be fairly separate from each other with the exclusion of barrel roll being effected by the FOV. It takes me hours of tweaking and personal preference to create something realistic before adding in any creative edge.

Is there anything out there that pulls all these things together or a special physically correct 3D camera?

As far as I’m aware the physical tone mappers shutter speed and f stop do not effect motion blur and Bokeh. The iso does not add in any grain. This would be awesome if these things were implemented.

Cheers people,
Andy

I’m sorry to say that I think Photoshop is your best friend for that.

You could try this script, it was made for Max 2008.
