Hi,
I’m trying to create myself a 3D wave for a project. I’ve modeled and rigged the wave but I’m having difficulties trying to figure out how to create a material that flows and twists up the wave.
This is the effect that I’m going for -

If anyone has some experience, I would really appreciate some assistance.
Regards,
Paul

The wave’s UV mapping has been animated - add a UVW XForm to the stack and animate the spinners. It also looks like the noise functions used to create the diffuse/bump/displace slots have animated phases, so the surface patterns seem to be constantly evolving (you can also map them to different UV channels and add more XForms to the stack, each animating a different channel at a different speed).

Thanks for your assistance.
I tried your suggestion, but for some reason nothing happens to the materials when I auto key the spinners in the UV Xform.
I have rendered out several frames and they are always the same....... no change at all but the material are moving in the viewport the was I want them to..
I would really appreciate if someone would be kind enough to take a look at my scene and see if they can figure it out.
Cheers,
Paul
